Extensive flooding in the Limerick area caused by overnight rain led to extended traffic hold-ups on all roads leading into the city yesterday. The Abbey river which had been drained for an engineering project filled up in the city and had to be pumped out last evening. There was also extensive flooding in the Adare region.
