Nominations closed at noon today for the position vacated by Minister for the Environment John Gormley, who became party leader in July.

Senator Dan Boyle, TD Paul Gogarty, Cllr Bronwen Maher, Dr John Barry and Phil Kearney each got the support of at least 30 members of the party

Postal ballots will be sent out to all party members with voting rights on Tuesday and must be returned by noon on Friday, October 19th.

The chair is responsible for chairing meetings of the national convention, management committee and other meetings on electoral and party strategy.
