Fishing factory vessel hits gas platform

A fishing factory vessel, the ‘Marbella' collided this morning in with a gas platform based in the Rough gas field off the English coast.

The platform is located 24 miles from the mouth of the River Humber.

Two lifeboats from Bridlington and Humber were launched to the incident after the Humber Coastguard were contacted just after 9.30 a.m.

A rescue helicopter has also been deployed to the gas field.

There are 128 people on board the platform who are all accounted for with 21 on board the damaged trawler.

No injuries have been reported.

The weather locally is misty and calm.
