Mr Brendan Counihan was welcomed by Judge Cyril Kelly yesterday on his first day representing the Chief State Solicitor in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Speaking in Court 24, Judge Kelly said he was delighted at Mr Counihan's appointment as he came highly recommended.
He replaces Mr Robert Sheehan who has been appointed to a position in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Mr Counihan formerly represented the Chief State Solicitor in the Special Criminal Court.
