Fine Gael has called for a public inquiry to establish how children were given a three-in-one vaccine which did not pass a crucial toxicity test.

Mr Denis Naughten TD said parents of children who were given the vaccine in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later diagnosed as brain-damaged had, in many cases, been unable to get accurate vaccination records from their doctors or health boards.
