London - Harrods owner, Mr Mohamed Al Fayed, "fabricated" the story of his son Dodi's engagement to Princess Diana and the events surrounding their deaths, judges at the Court of Appeal said yesterday. However, Mr Al Fayed won his action against the Sun newspaper over pictures of a visit by his son and the Princess to a Parisian villa a few hours before they were killed in a car crash on August 31st, 1997.
Three appeal judges overturned a High Court ruling that the stills, taken from security cameras at Mr Al Fayed's Villa Windsor, were published in the public interest as part of "fair dealing" by the media.
