A family was left badly shaken but physically uninjured following a kidnap and robbery in Belfast this morning.

A family was left badly shaken but physically uninjured following a kidnap and robbery in Belfast this morning.

A number of masked men entered a house in the Anderstowns Road area during the early hours of the morning.

A woman was forced to escort the men to her place of work while her husband and daughter were held at home by other members of the gang.

She was then instructed to remove cash from her place of work believed to be a commercial premises in the Park Centre.

A police spokesman said the family were left badly shaken by the ordeal.

The woman’s car was later found abandoned Beechview Park area of west Belfast.

Detectives are appealing for information from witnesses and are especially keen to talk to anyone who observed a grey-coloured Fiat Punto in the Ballymurhpy area early this morning.
