Roy Keane's disciplinary hearing following his controversial autobiography will take place on October 15th, the English Football Association (FA) announced today.
Manchester United captain Keane denies two charges of bringing the game into disrepute relating to an account in his book of an incident with Manchester City's Alfe Inge Haaland during a match in April 2001.
The Ireland midfielder is currently recovering from a hip operation and is not expect to be fit to play for another month.
The FA charged Keane on September 4th following the publication of his autobiography, which was earlier serialised in a British newspaper.
The first charge relates to the alleged element of revenge in his tackle on Haaland. The second regards the 31-year-old former Ireland captain allegedly publishing his account of the incident for financial reward.
Keane, who faces a lengthy ban and a possible fine if found guilty, is expected to attend the hearing in person at a venue yet to be announced.
