Sir Alex Ferguson is set to appear before a Football Association's disciplinary panel on Monday to answer a misconduct charge following his touchline outburst against Newcastle.

The Manchester United manager has been charged with using "abusive and/or insulting language to a match official".

Ferguson angrily confronted fourth official Jeff Winter after Andy O'Brien was not penalised for pulling back Ryan Giggs during the televised clash at Old Trafford on August 23rd.
