Extremist group slaughters 18

PARIS - An Algerian newspaper said yesterday Muslim guerrillas cut the throats of 18 people in a remote hamlet south-west of the capital, Algiers, last week. Among the 18 peasants were a four-year-old child and a six-month-old baby, El Watan said.
