Palma de Majorca - At least 50 people were injured yesterday when an apparent gas explosion caved in the roof of a cafe on the island of Majorca.

The blast, believed to have been caused by a ruptured propane tank, ripped through the popular Cafe Cappuccino on the waterfront in Palma de Majorca - an area frequented by foreign tourists - when it was filled with customers.

Reports said the injured included at least six foreigners - two Dutch tourists and four British citizens.
