A Galway environmental group held a three-hour protest outside the Progressive Democrats annual conference in the Corrib Great Southern Hotel, Galway, yesterday evening . Lorna Siggins reports.

Galway for a Safe Environment (GSE) is calling on the party to implement its own policy on waste management and to oppose incineration.

Two of the party's TDs, Mr Noel Grealish of Galway West and Ms Mae Sexton of Longford-Roscommon, agreed to meet the protesters over the weekend.
