Electronics firm Tyco Sensormatic is expected to cut 200 jobs at its factory in Cork.

It is understood employees will attend a meeting with management tomorrow where they will be told if the plant can survive.

The multinational company, which manufactures anti-theft devices for stores and stock control systems, employs 250 workers at its Model Farm Road plant outside Cork city.

It is also understood production will be outsourced and the plant will continue to operate with skeleton staff before shutting down.

The firm announced last month it planned to review its worldwide operations.

A spokesman for the IDA declined to comment. 

Manufacturing company Swissco revealed yesterday that 150 jobs were at risk at its operation in Cork.
