Election turnout is put at 80%

Yaounde - Cameroon's government said yesterday that 80.58 per cent of the electorate voted in a weekend presidential election boycotted by the main opposition which refused to put up candidates against President Paul Biya and urged voters to stay at home. It claims the government has massaged the figures.
