A cyclist in his eighties has died after a collision with a car in Co Galway yesterday evening.

A cyclist in his eighties has died after a collision with a car in Co Galway yesterday evening.

The local man was killed in the incident at Cappagh, Kilkerrin, at 6 p.m.

In Co Tipperary, a 70-year-old woman was killed when her four-wheel-drive vehicle collided with a truck. The truck was travelling towards Limerick when it hit the vehicle travelling in the opposite direction at Bunacum near Nenagh.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene; the truck driver was not injured.Neither crash victim has been named.
