Cork it graduate Nicola Field has registered a patent for her invention of an adult-friendly child-proof lock for medication container lids. A graduate in drama from Aberystwyth University in Wales, Field recently achieved a first-class honours degree in mechanical engineering. Her engineering career began when she enroled on a New Opportunities for Women (NOW) course in Cork IT in 1993. .
