AHEAD, the Association for Higher Education Access and Disability will host a seminar on Friday, May 10th, on the topic of education and employment students and graduates with disabilities.

The venue is the O'Reilly Hall at UCD and the day kicks off with registration at 9.00 a.m. followed at 10.00 a.m. by the opening address which will be given by the Minister for Education, Niamh Bhreathnach.

At 10.30 p.m Cloda Ryan of the Department of Finance will speak about the employment of people with disabilities within the civil service and a representative of IBEC will talk about disability, policy and practice. Later in the morning law lecturer, Tom Cooney, will consider legislation reform and whether or not this will make a difference.

In the afternoon speakers from Britain and Germany will share their experiences and at 4.00 p.m. there will be a panel discussion chaired by Pat Wiley of the Department of Equality and Law Reform.

This seminar would be of particular interest to those in the academic community, college administrators, students' unions and those in associations connected with disability or interested in educational and employment opportunities for people with a disability.
