Disability rights get Galway centre

NUI Galway has a new Disability Law and Policy Research Unit. The first such centre in the State, and one of the first in Europe, the unit is part of the Irish Centre for Human Rights. The unit will investigate the adequacy of existing legislation and promote the drafting of a new Disabilities Bill. A public lecture on Thursday, March 15th, by Professor Carol Doherty-Rasnic of Virginia Commonwealth University in the US, will deal with the Americans With Disabilities Act and recent US Supreme Court decisions.
