A Dublin solicitor who claimed he had been slandered and libelled by the Irish Nationwide Building Society and one of its employees, yesterday settled his High Court claim for damages.

Mr Michael Sheil (39), trading as Michael Sheil and Associates of Temple Court, Temple Road, Blackrock, alleged he was libelled in a letter bearing the signature of Mr Michael Fingleton, managing director of Irish Nationwide, and slandered by the society's arrears controller, Ms Pamela Kinsella. The defendants denied the claims.
