Gardaí have reopened a road in Dublin's north inner city after the investigation of a suspicious device near Mountjoy Garda Station.

Gardaí were alerted to the device by a phone caller, and the decision was taken to close down North Circular Road between the Berkley Road and Dorset Street junctions.

Members of the Garda bomb disposal unit investigated before giving the all-clear at around 3 pm.
