Two trains packed with commuters have collided in Vienna, leaving dozens injured, several seriously.

Two trains packed with commuters have collided in Vienna, leaving dozens injured, several seriously.

The state railway company said the crash was in an outlying suburb where trains in both directions use one set of rails.

Rescuers were on the scene shortly after the incident and helped passengers and crew to safety.

An OBB railways spokeswoman said the cause of the crash was being investigated.
