Soccer:Kevin Doyle believes Wolves can take advantage of Manchester United's hectic fixture schedule this weekend — if they can produce the level of performance shown against leaders Chelsea in their last home game.

The Republic of Ireland striker felt Mick McCarthy’s side deserved a tangible reward from their 2-0 reversal against the Blues when Petr Cech made a string of fine saves in the second half.

And Doyle is optimistic Wolves can become the latest side to pull off a shock victory against one of the top sides when they face the Red Devils.

Doyle said: “Every game is massive for us now in the fight for survival. The way the league is going this season, I would not write us off on Saturday. There have been plenty of surprise results.

“We have shown if we play well at home that we can get results against the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool. We know the situation we are in and everyone is on their toes and fighting for our Premier League lives.

“We could have easily got something from the Chelsea game, and if we can play like that against Manchester United, we can get something. If a little bit of luck turns our way, we can get some good results between now and the end of the season.”

Doyle added: “United have so many games and, no matter how good a player you are, with that amount of matches, it is difficult to do it week in and week out.

“I think that is why you have seen some of the results this season, with the top teams beaten. We have less games to play all season, so that is an advantage and hopefully that will show on Saturday.”
