Ireland's Ken Doherty crashed out of the British Open in Brighton today when the Dubliner had no answers for Northern Ireland's Gerard Greene dominance.
The world number six crashed out in the second round as Greene found form and dispatched of Doherty 5-2.
The Kent-based Greene scored heavily when at the table with breaks of 85, 69, 74 and 78 en route to a 4-1 lead. He clinched the match two frames later to set up a third round clash with Steve Davis or fellow countryman Joe Swail.
Credit must go to Greene because when Doherty got his chance he scored two century breaks (137 and 130) but Greene simply didn't allow Doherty the opportunity to get into the match.
"Gerard never missed a ball. He played really, really well," said Doherty afterwards. "I missed a couple of blacks in the second and third frames. But it's very rare you will go 4-1 down without another chance unless you are playing one of the very top players.
"I'm disappointed to lose but I can't have too many complaints."
