London - Baroness Thatcher looked on proudly yesterday as her husband Denis was awarded an honorary degree by the University of Buckingham for being an "English gentleman".
Tribute was paid to Sir Denis at the ceremony as being much more than the caricature in Private Eye's Dear Bill letters.
