The Irish Dental Association has claimed the Dental Treatment Services Scheme, set up to help low income earners, is finding it difficult coping with a growing waiting list for treatment. Mr Donal Atkins, general secretary of the association, said medical card holders; faced delays of six to 12 months in most of the eight regional health board areas. He said the waiting list in the Eastern Health Board was over 7,000.
