The Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue, has signed an order extending the regulations covering decommissioning, which were due to expire next Tuesday. The matter was raised in the Dail yesterday by the Labour leader, Mr Ruairi Quinn.

A spokesman for Mr O'Donoghue said that the regulations were due to expire on May 22nd and he had signed the order extending them until February 27th, 2002. This was the same expiry date as the British regulations covering decommissioning, the spokesman said.
