A cyclist has died following a fatal road collision in Dublin this morning.

A cyclist has died following a fatal road collision in Dublin this morning.

The 49-year-old woman was critically injured when she was struck by a lorry carrying a skip at the junction of Wolfe Tone Quay and Temple Street West at around 10.15am. She was taken to St James's Hospital, but later died from her injuries.

Gardaí from the Traffic Unit at Store Street Garda Station are investigating the collision and have asked for witnesses to contact them at 01-6668000.

The woman's name has not yet been released.
