Two men have been arrested following the discovery of €20,000 of cannabis in a car at Rosslare Europort, Co Wexford, yesterday evening.

Officers from Revenue's Customs found the 1.66kg of herbal cannabis hidden in the spare wheel of a car disembarking the ferry from France.

The two Polish nationals, aged 32 and 26, were handed over to gardaí in Wexford.

Meanwhile, customs officers at Shannon airport were granted an order to detain $54,800 under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2005

The cash had been found in the baggage of a male passenger aged in his fifties as he embarked on a flight to the US on Wednesday.

The order allows Customs officers detain the cash for three months to carry out further enquiries.
