About 200,000 people drank a cup of tea yesterday to help raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. It is hoped that the National Tea Day campaign, first organised three years ago, will bring in up to £250,000. All money raised in each area will help provide services in that area to victims and their carers through a network of 24 branches throughout the country. The aim of the campaign is also to increase awareness of Alzheimer's and the effects of the disease.
