Dr Conor Cruise O'Brien (78), a UK Unionist representative at the Northern Ireland talks at Stormont, was described as "comfortable" by a spokeswoman for Beaumont Hospital in Dublin last night. He was admitted there on Monday after suffering a mild stroke. He is expected to be detained in hospital for a number of days for further tests.
