Three men stabbed in separate incidents in Dublin and Antrim

Three men were stabbed in separate incidents in Dublin and Antrim last night .

One man, aged 19, was stabbed at a shop on College Green in Dublin city centre at about 11.30pm. He taken by ambulance to St James’s Hospital.

Two males and a female aged in their teens were arrested a short time after the incident by gardaí and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A male and the female have since been released without charge pending the preparation of a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Another male is due in court later this month in relation to the incident.

Separately, gardaí are investigating the circumstances of another stabbing in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin, last night.

A 41-year-old male was seriously injured in an incident in an apartment at Clarence Street, and taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital.

A male aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene. He was released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Another man was seriously injured after he was repeatedly stabbed in the back in Co Antrim last night. The attack occurred in the Clareville Walk area of Ballyclare at around 3.30am . Detectives in Newtownabbey believe the male attacker was unknown to the 41-year-old victim, who is in a serious condition in hospital. They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
