Man threatened with crossbow and assaulted during kidnapping

A man has been threatened with a crossbow during a kidnapping in Co Tyrone last night.

According to the PSNI two men forced the victim into a white van on the Gortgonis Rd, Coalisland, at about 6.30pm.

The 36-year-old was driven around for approximately 20 minutes and was also assaulted.

The victim’s phone was taken by his assailants who also demanded money. The man escaped at Derrytresk Road.

The police are appealing for information.

A PSNI spokesperson said they want to hear from anyone who noticed a white van in the Gortgonis Road area at around 5.30pm.
