Gardaí investigating the suspicious the death of a man in Courtown Harbour, Co Wexford on Christmas Eve have released without charge a man arrested in connection with the death.

The body of John Lawlor, (48), was found at a house in Ballinatray Lower, Courtown Harbour, shortly before midnight.

A second man, also in his 40s, was taken from the house by ambulance to Wexford General Hospital where he was treated for injuries.

He was released from hospital yesterday morning and was arrested and questioned by gardaí.

The house remains sealed off as Garda technical officers carry out a forensic examination.

The dead man's body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a postmortem will take place this morning.
