Gardaí identify man who died in Carlow town last week

Male, believed to be Polish or Eastern European, found in unresponsive state on lane

Gardaí say they have identified a man whose body was discovered in Carlow town last week.

The unknown man was found in an unresponsive state at Cox’s Lane when gardaí attended the scene at 9pm last Tuesday. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased was thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He was described as being about 175cm-177.5cm (5ft 9in-5ft 10in) tall, with short black neatly cut hair and of dark complexion.

It is believed the man is of Polish or East European origin.
