Four men remain in hospital after rally car crash in Co Meath

Car spun out of control into a field and hit two spectators on Sunday

Four men remain in hospital following a rally crash in Athboy, Co Meath on Sunday.

A driver, a co-driver and two spectators suffered serious injuries during a crash at the ALMC Stages rally about 4pm.

It is understood the car lost control, left the road and spun into a field hitting two men watching the event.

One of the men has been air-lifted to Beaumont Hospital, north Dublin.

The other three men have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The ALMC Motor C lub said in a statement the injuries were serious but not “immediately life threatening”.
