TWO fishermen were rescued be another boat last night after their trawler, the Mystic Mourne, sank 25 miles east of Ballycotton in Co Cork, writes Mairead Carey.

The 38ft trawler, which fishes out of Helvic Head, near Dungarvan, Co Waterford went down in less than five minutes about 10.30 last night. The two fishermen on board managed to get into a lifeboat and set off flares. They were soon picked up by another trawler, the Duo Volente, and later transferred to the Ballycotton lifeboat.

One of the men is understood to have received leg injuries and was to be taken to hospital in Cork.
