The High Court has granted an order restraining picketing on three building developments, two in Limerick and one in Ennis.

The order was granted to Mr Andrew Walker, for Brian McCarthy Building and Civil Engineering Contractors Ltd, of Ennis, and applies to developments at the International Folk Music Centre, Ennis; Limerick Racecourse and the University of Limerick.

The court was told picketing started at the Ennis development last week and later spread to the two Limerick sites.

The President of the High Court, Mr Justice Morris, said yesterday he accepted the undertakings of two men, Mr Michael McNamara and Mr John Flynn, that they would not picket the sites. He granted an injunction restraining two other men, Mr Patrick O'Gorman and Mr Patrick Kelly, from picketing the sites.
