Two men have pleaded guilty to plotting to cause explosions likely to endanger life in Britain and the Republic at the Old Bailey in London this morning.

John Hannan (19) and James McCormack (34) admitted conspiring to cause explosions.

The jury in the trial of three suspected "Real IRA" men, who deny similar charges, was told that Hannan and McCormack had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

The three whose trial began today - Mr Robert Hulme (23), Mr Aiden Hulme (26) and Mr Noel Maguire (34) deny conspiracy to cause explosions between January 1st and November 15th 2001.

The charges relate to three car bombs which were planted outside the BBC studios in Wood Lane, Shepherd's Bush, London; in Ealing Broadway, west London and in Queensway, Birmingham
