Limerick County Council has removed one of three precautionary boil water notices put in place following heavy rainfall.

Limerick County Council has removed one of three precautionary boil water notices put in place following heavy rainfall.

Up to 3,500 people had been affected by the boil notice in Dromcollogher, Broadford, Feohanagh, Feenagh, Kilmeedy and surrounding areas.

In a statement issued yesterday, the local authority said following the receipt of satisfactory water quality test results, and on the advice of the Health Service Executive, the precautionary boil water notice has been lifted for the South West Regional Water Supply.

“Two other separate precautionary boil notices remain in place as a precautionary measure pending further investigation,” said Paul Crowe, director of services with Limerick County Council. The notices relate to Ardagh village and the immediate surrounding area, and the Carrigeen area, near Croom.
