Fulham 2 Sunderland 0

Fulham 2 Sunderland 0

Fulham continued to enjoy their first season in the top flight since 1968 with a well earned victory at Craven Cottage.

Unlucky to lose 3-2 at Manchester United on Sunday, Fulham created chance after chance with Saha again the danger man.

Sunderland also carved out their own openings but it was an error by their goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen that led to the opener after 57 minutes as he poor clearance eventually fell to Hayles, who placed the ball into the empty goal.

Saha, who scored both Fulham goals at Old Trafford, finally found the target with a deflected shot five minutes from time.
