Hong Kong - US scholar Mr Li Shaomin, who was convicted by a Chinese court of spying for Taiwan earlier this month, arrived in Hong Kong yesterday, a government statement said.

Mr Li, an ethnic Chinese who taught at Hong Kong's City University, was deported to the US on Wednesday after being convicted on July 15th by a court in Beijing on espionage charges.
