Roaming charges:Telco may have been forced to drop their call charges, but no doubt they will increase the connection charge instead. Indeed, or most likely, they will contrive a new method of extracting additional fees from their customers. Charges may be capped, but I somehow doubt the mobile operators will accept a loss of revenue. – BPF
It’s still a rip-off – less of a rip-off, but a rip-off all the same. There should be no roaming charges – period. They cannot be justified.

Music Biz
I have some sympathy for the music industry, but not a lot because to some extent they are victims of their own greed. I started buying music on vinyl but since then cassette, CD and now Mp3 formats have had periods of currency. I am expected to pay the copyright fee for the same pieces of music each time I want to update the format in which they are stored. Paying once should be enough.

I grew up listening to vinyl LPs, EPs and 45s. I browsed the shelves of my local record shop. I was gobsmacked at the artwork, learned how to look after my vinyl so it wouldn’t warp, change the needle on the record player and never ever let the needle fall onto the record. To listen to music was an occasion, where you sat back and sank into that world for the time it took the record to play. Today, I have an Mp3 player that has over a 1,000 songs (all legal!) and I have spent time and effort in getting my lists together depending on my mood. I do it, but never entirely enjoy it. I miss the evolution of the music as the record plays.
But nostalgia will not save the music industry. I hope that they will consider how people today want to build their music libraries and work towards achieving that.
