Moroni - A large majority of voters in the Comoro Islands have voted in favour of adopting a new constitution aimed at ending the islands' institutional and separatist crises, the national electoral committee has said.

Just under 77 per cent of the electorate voted in favour of the Comoros' new constitution, the independent electoral commission announced on the breakaway island of Anjouan in the Indian Ocean.
