Washington - President Clinton yesterday waived for six months a provision of the Helms-Burton law that would allow Americans to file lawsuits against foreign firms doing business in Cuba. Mr Clinton has repeatedly exercised his special powers to suspend the provision in return for pledges from European countries to press Cuba on human rights.
