Customs officials have seized 2.3 million smuggled cigarettes in Drogheda Port as part of operation to crack down on large-scale smuggling.
The shipment, valued at €700,000, was on a vessel that had sailed from Rotterdam. It is believed the cigarettes were headed to Britain.
No arrests have been made.
