Racing:Nicky Henderson's Bobs Worth (3-1 fav) won the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

Always travelling well just off the pace set by On His Own and Total Submission, Barry Geraghty moved his mount to challenge for the lead two hurdles from home.

Whilst Habbie Simpson was travelleing equally as well towards his outer, the six-year-old son of Bob Back brushed him aside before the final flight.

A late surge from off the pace by the well-backed Rose Of The Moon (12-1) was a worry for backers of the 3-1 favourite but he had plenty in hand at the line.

Geraghty reasoned: "He was still fairly green in the early stages but is a progressive little horse that jumps well."

Henderson feels a tilt at the EBF Final could be compromised by the workings of the assessor and said: "He's not that kind of flashy boy at home, just an honest horse that gets on with his work at home. He has a lovely temperament and a good attitude to life.

"I originally thought about the EBF Final but his rating could be an issue."

Habbie Simpson was third (11-1), whilst On His Own ran well to finish fourth.

Second favourite Astracad was well-held further back, whilst bad errors for Easter Meteor and Golden Chieften curtailed any chance they had.

Lethal Glaze was creeping into the race with half a mile left to run but he took a crashing fall at the second-last flight of hurdles.

Paddy Power granted Bobs Worth an opening quote of 20-1 for the Neptune Investment Hurdle back at Cheltenham in March with Sky Bet cutting him to 14-1 from 20s for that race.
