Warsaw - Chechens detained in Poland for allegedly smuggling explosives to Germany were trained and financed by the al-Qaeda Islamist network, a police source said yesterday.
"These people were dealing in the illegal trafficking of explosives to Germany," said the source, who did not reveal the number of suspects involved.
