A Co Dublin man who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of another man in Balbriggan last year was June attended for sentencing until remanded the Central Criminal Court yesterday. At the opening of the trial, Alan Rooney (28), of Curran Park, Balbriggan, pleaded not guilty to the murder of David Hammond in April last year. Mr Hammond (24), died after being stabbed at Pump Lane, Balbriggan, Dublin, on April 27th, 1996. Laterhe pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Mr Justice Carney remanded the accused in continuing custody for sentencing on the manslaughter plea on June 6th next.
