An authority on BSE will give evidence at an inquest on Northern Ireland's first known victim of Creutzfeld Jakob Disease, the human form of BSE.
Dr James Ironside, a neuropathologist with the CJD surveillance unit in Edinburgh, will be a witness when the inquest on Mr Maurice Callaghan is held in Belfast later this month.
Mr Callaghan (30) a mechanical engineer from west Belfast, died on November 4th, last year from CJD. A keen red meat eater, he had worked for a time in an abattoir as part of his university studies.
