NICOSIA - A Briton living in Cyprus was jailed for IS years by a criminal court yesterday for strangling his Cypriot wife and, then hurling her body out of an apartment window last year.

The defendant, David Parris (34), had pleaded not guilty to charges of manslaughter in the death of his wife Avgoustina, who was 34 when she died in February 1996.

But the three bench Assizes Court sitting in Nicosia ruled that Parris beat, then strangled his wife before tossing her bode out of a window of their second floor apartment in a Nicosia suburb in a fit of rage.
